The filming crew of "TF3" has now been spotted in Detroit AKA Motor City. Detroit is coincidentally a primary location in Transformers Animated.

The filming took place at an abandon auto plant, where as Jalopnik points out various forms of wreckage lie about. To view said images at Jalopnik, click here.

What could have happened there we don't know, but you wanna speculate? Do it in our forums here.

The crew working on Transformers 3 refuses to leave Chicago, AKA Seibertron.com's capital. If we look at the bus reroutes, it would imply work there in some form would continue until Friday.

With that little time, it's likely nothing big will happen, but no one can say for sure in this hobby full of surprises. It could be clean-up, or it could be the scene that ties everything together.

Think you know? Just want to ramble? Feel free to speculate here.

Appreciated forum member Hausjam provides us with new info and images from the Chicago filming a few days ago. Below are his pictures and video from the action:

hausjam wrote:I happened to be staying downtown this weekend. As luck would have it, priceline put us at the Wit on State and Lake. TF3 closed off Wacker between State and Wabash, and Wabash between Wacker and Lake. So we were literally right next door to filming all weekend. It was difficult to get good pictures because security kept forcing everyone to keep moving and telling everyone to take pictures while you are walking. It was rather exciting though, considering I had not even planned on visiting the set while I was downtown.

Tyrese was done for the day, so he came across to say hi to the crowd:

He hopped in the car and gave a "hoo-yah" to the crowd as he was driving away:

This is the Unitrin building on the corner of Wacker and State:

You can see the letters here scattered on the ground among the debris.
It stands to reason that some Decepticon will take out the top of this building and make the letters come crashing down.

This is an ornamental spire on top of the building on the corner of Wacker and Wabash:

And notice it matches this debris laying on Wabash. This is the prop debris Patrick Dempsey was photographed on top of a few weeks ago during filming:

Michael Bay just before an action sequence:

He kept pacing, contemplating something:

Then he grabbed a camera, and started filming the take himself. He really is a "hands-on" director:

This is the action sequence that followed. They roll camera around 1:05. It's over a minute straight of gunfire. If you watch closely, you can see Bay walking across the bridge with his handheld camera. He followed the Pursuit camera car that raced across the bridge just ahead of him.

Now, judging by the above description, the above photos of Lennox, Epps, the NEST guys crouching behind the bridge and then popping up and firing (which I was not able to get a picture of), and then the fact that the NEST guys were shooting up in the air (and an earlier youtube video I saw showing Bumblebee racing through debris on Wacker right next to this scene) I am thinking Bumblebee races across the bridge with a Decepticon in pursuit and the NEST guys pop up and ambush it. This is simply my conjecture though.

I cannot wait to see the movie, because I am a lifelong tranformers fanatic, but also to see the set on the big screen after seeing it in person, and to see if my conjecture of this particular scene is correct!

If you were wondering the identity of Rosie Huntington, look no further: As her name in the upcoming film is confirmed as Carly. But that's not all, Nelson, administrator on Shoot for the Edit also confirms the name of that red Ferrari we've been seeing, who's to be known as Rush! To view a detailed report from Nelson on the filming, click here. Also see more photos on Shoot for the Edit by clicking here.

Bay was filming a scene with Shia (Sam) ; Rosie (Carly) in which they were hiding within a wrecked and flipped car. At around that time the temperature hit 102 degrees (including humidity index). It was so hot that Shia was sweating through his leather jacket and as was Rosie. Back to the scene... apparently the scene is one in which a Decepticon is hunting for them. As Bay filmed this, a cue from the score was played to add to the suspense.

EDIT: Michael Bay's site forums have updated information. Apparently the caption 'RUSH' on the photo of the red Ferrari has been updated to 'Rush st.', as in the name of the street it was parked on, not the name of the car's character. Thanks to Imdad for pointing that out!

WGNtv and NBC Chicago are both reporting that Chicago's Michigan Ave is completely closed due to filming.

WGNtv wrote:
All traffic will be rerouted including 22 CTA buses until early Monday morning. (go to transitchicago.com for more details)

Some sidewalks and businesses remain open but you'll have to cross the river at Wabash or Columbus.

Filming includes simulated gunfire, explosions and sky divers throughout the weekend. Helicopters will also be flying near the Trump Tower. Dozens of cars are flipped over on Michigan Avenue and some are rigged to explode.

NBC Chicago wrote:
Michigan Avenue between Wacker Drive and Ontario Street will close Thursday night and will remain shut down through 5 a.m. on Monday, July 19.

Ohio Street will be open for local access only on northbound Michigan Avenue. Lower Michigan Avenue will be available to vehicles and pedestrians until Friday, July 16 at 8 p.m.

Chicago Transit Authority buses will be rerouted during the closure. TransitChicago.com will have up-to-date details and schedule information.

Crews on the Michael Bay-directed film will be filming in the traffic circle north of the Michigan Avenue bridge and surrounded by the Wrigley Building, 401 N. Michigan Ave., and Pioneer Court, the movie's location managers said in a release.

All businesses within the closure on Michigan Avenue will remain open during the filming, with crews assisting employees and shoppers with getting to their destinations.

A portion of the north side of the River Walk will also be closed. The south side of the River Walk will be open for pedestrians and for access to the tour boats and water taxis.
