Steven Blum, famous for his roles in GI Joe Resolute and as Spike Spiegel from the anime TV series Cowboy Bebop has been announced as the voice of Starscream in Transformers Prime at SacAnime. Steven Blum's last roles in a Transformers series date back to Robots in Disguise, where he voiced Dark Scream, W.A.R.S. and Fortress Maximus.

In a recent interview with the folks over at 2D-X, Josh Keaton hints at which character he will be voicing in the upcoming cartoon series, Transformers: Prime.

Is there anything you can tell us about Transformers Prime (story, characters, etc.)? Were you and Dan Gilvezan able to talk about the Bumblebee character at all while working together on Shattered Dimensions?

I can;rsquo;t say anything about the story yet and I;rsquo;m pretty sure it;rsquo;s already out there that Peter Cullen and Frank Welker will be returning as Optimus and Megatron. Dan and I actually did have a little discussion about me taking all of his roles, but I reminded him that it hasn;rsquo;t actually been confirmed anywhere that I;rsquo;m going to be voicing Bumblebee. It is Seibertron.com's solemn duty to report that Ronald Gans, who voiced the Stunticon's ego-maniac Drag Strip, has passed away on June 29th.

Variety.com reports;

Variety.com wrote:Ronald Gans, actor and voiceover performer for shows including TV's "Welcome to Pooh Corner," died June 29 in Los Angeles from complications of pneumonia. He was 79.
Gans, sometimes credited as Ron Kennedy, was the voice of Kanga and Roo on "Pooh Corner." He also gave voice to Sebastian the alley cat in the Disney Channel's "Dumbo's Circus" and Drag Strip on the "Transformers" TV cartoon.

With his deep, booming tone, he voiced hundreds of trailers, TV promos and radio ads during his nearly 50-year career. Screen appearances include roles in "Perry Mason," "Lost in Space," and several Roger Corman films.

Looks like we missed a news story last week, a pretty important one at that. It turns out that 5 months ago actress Tania Gunadi posted the following on her twitter:

Tania Gunadi wrote:Working with Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) and Frank Welker (Megatron) is sooooo cool!!!!!"

This post came 3 months prior to the first official reveal of Cullen being involved in TF Prime, it also confirms that Frank Welker is indeed Megatron for Prime, 5 months before we had official confirmation at BotCon.

The character she is set to voice is called Miko, Miko is Japanese and means "Shaman woman" who are usually young (virgin) girls in service to gods at shrines.

This might be the characters actual name or even it's profession, only time will tell - or Tania Guandi already did in an old tweet.
